EnergyCam as a plug & play retrofit enables infrastructure operators, commercial enterprises, public facilities, residential property managers, and industrial companies to digitalize their analog and gas meters that are already in place without incurring expenditure for installation.   

EnergyCam is simply adhered to a meter, and the integrated camera then reads the analog counts on a regular basis and converts them into digital data. The corresponding data is then transmitted in line with the respective requirements wirelessly or via cable and becomes available for analysis and processing in applications like SAP and Excel, or in specific company dashboards for analysis. Thus, the implementation of EnergyCam contributes to meeting the energy management requirements laid out in DIN/ISO 50001. 

Infrastructure connection: wireless or wired

EnergyCam can be seamlessly integrated into existing and newly installed networks alike. It supports connections via M-Bus, wireless M-Bus, LoRaWAN, and NB-IoT. 

The data is transferred to the MonbiusFlow gateway using the additional M-Bus receiver. There, it becomes available to the respective department for further processing in SAP, Excel, and further applications as well as customized dashboards. 

Example of large scale energy management 

Problem: 10,000 meters, most of which are analog, distributed across buildings and properties over a radius of approximately 10 kilometers. The intention is for the meters to be read out automatically on a regular basis as the foundation for optimised energy management, with the data being digitalised and placed at the IT Department’s disposal without media interruption.

The solution: EnergyCam digitises the meter counts from the analog rolling counters at each installation and forwards them to the IoT platform at predefined intervals via narrow band (NB) IoT on the network. There, the information is placed at the disposal of the IT department, facilitating prompt reaction to unplanned changes. This solution of course works on single meter installations and can scale depending on customer requirements.
