Smart Building and IoT trends, and customer demands, are continuously changing, but over the last 18 months there have been a number of trends that have remained constant, and Quocirca’s Smart Building and IoT Study has summarised these into three key areas.
Quocirca spoke to 260 organisations across UK, France, Germany and the US and some of the key findings are as follows:
- The top factors influencing smart building technology investments include long term cost savings, improving health and safety and occupant comfort and wellbeing
- Environmental sensors e.g. indoor air quality seen as very valuable in terms of IoT analytics
- Over 50% of organisations are concerned with IoT data security
